EXPLORE MANITOGA: Design • Art • Nature   
Through November 18, 2024
Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, hourly from 11am to 2pm, (90 minutes)
Plus Extended / Special tours on select mornings & afternoons

2 – Saturday, 10am - 3pm, Landscape Workday
Roll up your sleeves and meet other arborists, horticulturists, garden designers and landscape enthusiasts. Volunteers of all skill levels are welcomed. To register for this event, email ephillips@visitmanitoga.org or call 845-228-8350.

2 – Saturday, 3 - 5pm, Art in Flower, $50
Join author and landscape designer, Lindsey Taylor as she discusses the inspirations for her new book and makes arrangements from Manitoga's woodland garden for vessels designed by Russel and Mary Wright. Visitors will enjoy an Autumn Landscape walk up the Quarry Pool Path before entering the House, Studio & Design Gallery. Wine & light refreshments to follow at the House at Dragon Rock.

3 – Sunday, 10am-12pm, In the Landscape: Quarry to Quarry, $20
Take a guided 1-1/2 hr. / 1.5 mile moderate hike from Russel Wright’s highly designed Quarry Pool at Dragon Rock to the wilderness of Lost Pond Quarry. Space is limited, reservations required.

9 – Saturday, 2:30 - 4:30pm, MANITOGA – In Focus: The Design Collection, $50
Enjoy a late afternoon tour of the House, Studio and Woodland Garden with special focus on the relationship between the Wright’s professional life-style and product designs and the architecture and landscape of their home at Manitoga. Tour includes an in-depth visit of the Russel & Mary Wright Design Gallery and an inside look at recent donations of rare early work from the collection of Gary & Laura Maurer.

16 – Saturday, 12 - 4pm, A Collectors Afternoon with Ann Wright, $75
Enjoy a buffet lunch prepared by Ann Wright & Mark Rumbolo and spirited camaraderie with fellow collectors. Special presentation at 2pm by Michael Pratt: Russel Wright Revelations: Hidden Gems, Discoveries, Quotes & Insights. Space is limited, advance reservations required.

18 – Monday, Last Day of EXPLORE MANITOGA: Design • Art • Nature Tours

DECEMBER

7 – Saturday, 10am - 12:30pm, Welcome Winter! Forest Walk & Pine Tea, $100
Enjoy an extended, in-depth experience of the House, Studio, Woodland Garden and Russel Wright choreographed foot trails. Jane Dobson, Mindful Outdoor Nature Guide, will provide a Forest Bathing walk, complete with freshly foraged pine tea and light snacks.

9 – Saturday, Last Day of Private Tours.

YEAR ROUND

Self-Guided Hikes. Daily, during daylight hours. Manitoga offers two miles of trails designed by Russel Wright. His “garden of woodland paths” has links to the Appalachian Trail. Dogs are not permitted. Trail maps available at the Visitor/Guide House kiosk, 584 Route 9D public entrance. Suggested donation of $5 helps support trail maintenance.
