Hudson Valley & Beyond

hudson valley & beyond

Extending our reach, we welcome many from beyond our local community for programs and events, and through object loans and collaborations with other museums/sites, those from farther afield. Examples include the Upstate Art Weekend initiative that promotes 145 sites/artist studios to bring visibility to the vibrant Upstate art scene. Ongoing involvement with the Hudson Valley Ramble and the Greater Hudson Heritage Network, both pictured above, strengthen our ties with the Hudson Valley community. Groups such as the one pictured from the Haverstraw King’s Daughter’s Public Library visit frequently. The recent publication of the book “Russel and Mary Wright: Dragon Rock at Manitoga” presented opportunities for book signings in NYC and elsewhere, and a well-attended collaboration with the Desmond Fish Library for an online conversation between Allison Cross, Manitoga Executive Director and author, Jennifer Golub. We regularly welcome a group of knowledgeable and supportive Russel and Mary Wright collectors to Manitoga for conversation and community building. Also pictured is the Edith Farnsworth House with a table set with Russel Wright Iroquois China, which was on extended loan for the inaugural exhibition of the house interior reset. Many more examples abound.

Please contact Public Programs Manager, Sarah Connors, to inquire about arranging a visit to Manitoga.
